The Changes, Dey A-Coming Still

The link to my Wordpress blog won't be working as I set the place to private for now. I've no plan to delete it at the moment, but I moved back here after spending a week over there, doing a lot of research on the pros and cons of maintaining a site with them as a paid account and how all that works with my current situation as well as future plans as an indie writer.

There are a lot of bell and whistles that come with a paid account, I admit, and they're super shiny. It did take a lot of self-control NOT to hit "upgrade" while I was digging around for more info. Maybe it's age. Who knows?

At any rate, I'm back here at Blogger, and I've also made a change regarding domain names.

I dropped anything "haydenthorne dot whatever" because I'd like to keep my options open for future books and whether or not I'll be writing under my current pen name. That also includes genres and my move toward more mainstream stuff mixing it up with my usual gay New Adult fiction.

If you've read The Ghosts of St. Grimald Priory, you have an idea where I'm headed in terms of experimenting with a different market. While the gay elements are fairly prominent, they're mostly a side thing, and Prue's adventures are essential and the main point of the series. The third book will definitely place the gay romance aspect front and center, but it'll still be Prue's story to tell.

I do have ideas kicking around about mysteries being solved by a PoC who's also around Prue's age, but as I'm no real mystery writer, especially when it comes to classic cozies (which, as you already know, I absolutely adore), the stories will have strong fantasy / paranormal elements. At any rate, the ideas are still extremely vague, and there are other considerations for me to really think about before making a decision about them.

But it'll be a fun change and probably a necessary one in my case. We shall see!

So, anyway, I dropped and got which I hope to hold on to indefinitely regardless of where I end up settling down online.

Looky mah new shiny!

Okay, so we're all set for now. I'll be back to updating with more posts this weekend (more like one more post). I also would like to post more frequently and not just once a week, but that's really dependent on time and the evils of real life shit. Know what I mean?

Anyway, I'll be back soon.
